Samuel C. Anderson

WILKES-BARRE-Samuel C. Anderson, 80, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at his home. Born in Philadelphia on December 11, 1929, he was a son of the late James and Alleena Anderson. He graduated from the Philadelphia public school system. Mr. Anderson of was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was formerly employed by SCI Chase as a prison guard and later worked for Bridgeside as a security guard. He was a member of the American Legion, Plains. He enjoyed watching western movies, Monday Night Raw wrestling and reminiscing about old times. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Frances E. Griffen and 10 brothers and sisters. Surviving is his wife of 3 years, the former Elizabeth J. McCloe; son, Willie (Felicia)Williams, Trucksville; daughters, Shirley Anderson Taylor, Wilkes-Barre; Lisa Bealla, Dallas; Nicole Anderson, Wilkes-Barre; Romona (Joseph) Truesdale, Pasadena, MD; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces;1 nephew; 6 sisters-in-law; 8 brothers-in-law. Homegoing services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, 780 S. Main Street Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Wallace Smith will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held Saturday at noon in White Chapel Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
