YORK Sally A. D'Onofrio parted this life to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Memorial Hospital after suffering the past five years with pulmonary disease. Sally was the widow of Michael J. D'Onofrio, who passed into eternity on August 25, 2004. Sally was born in Cold Spring, N.Y., on April 13, 1942, to the late Clara and Royal Monroe. In passing, Sally leaves to cherish her memory four children, Marie Stremmel and mate, Joe Thevenin of Manchester, Deborah L. Gallatin and husband, N. Richard of York, Brian D'Onofrio of Windsor, and Alan D'Onofrio and wife, Julie of Windsor; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves a twin brother, Richard and wife, Ellen of Austin, Texas; a sister, Marie and husband, Bruce Nott of Newburgh, N.Y.; a brother, Ronald and wife, Marty of South Carolina; and a brother, Royal of New York. Sally was preceded in death by four brothers. Sally was well know for her talents in finishing ceramic ware, and her joy of 'Bingo nights and of volunteering with the USMC Auxiliary. At Sally's request, she is to be cremated and her remains taken to Cape May, N.J. There her ashes will be scattered in the sea to be with her husband's ashes. It was their desire to be together in Eternity. At the family's request, there will be no viewing or services. Anyone wishing may donate to their favorite charity in Sally's memory. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements.
