S. Virginia (Lyon) Case

S. Virginia (Lyon) "Ginny" Case, 68, of Troy, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Troy Community Hospital. She was the loving wife of Larry Case. The couple married on May 6, 1962 and had 47 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Ginny's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Austinville Union Church, Austinville, PA with her pastor and uncle, Rev. Kenneth Marple, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of Ginny's family in Bradford County Memorial Park. Ginny was born on January 12, 1942 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Richard E. Lyon and Sylvia (Wilkins) Lyon of Troy, PA. She was a Troy High School graduate, class of 1960, and later was part of the Alumni Committee for the class. Ginny was one of the original employees to work for Eureka and later Paper Magic in Troy and worked for over forty years until it's closure. She was the flower fund coordinator for Eureka/Paper Magic, was on the board of directors for the Eureka Employees Federal Credit Union, and was a contributor to the Eureka Newsletter at the Paper Magic in Troy. Ginny was also a hair stylist, graduating from the Pauldine's Beauty School in Elmira and had her own shop till 1982. She also held seats on the REA and PFA advisory boards with her husband Larry. Ginny was a long time member of the Austinville Union Church. She sang in the choir, was a trustee, and was treasurer of the Ladies Missionary Society. She was a supporter of the reopening of the Olde Covert Church on Armenia Mountain where her grandmother, Mary Lyon, used to serve as pastor. Ginny is survived by her mother Sylvia, her husband Larry, her son Jeffrey A. Case of Sherburne, NY, her sister Norma J. (Randall) Spencer of Glenwood, MD, her aunts: Gloria & Rev. Ken Marple of Troy, Marjorie & Nathan Blow of East Smithfield, Marcella & Robert Reed of Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, and her uncle Jim (Doris) Lyon of Farmers Valley, her brother-in-law Jim Case of Penn Yan, NY, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ginny was preceded in death by her father, her sister-in-law Winnie Case, and her nephew Scott Spencer. Memorial contributions may be made in Ginny's memory to the Austinville Union Church, RR 1 Box 368, Troy, PA 16947 or to the Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
