Ruth S. (Hall) Larson

WILLIAMSPORT - Ruth S. (Hall) Larson, 101, formerly of Montoursville, died Monday, February 04, 2013 at Manor Care South, Williamsport. She was born on January 20, 1912 in Montoursville, and she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Katie M. (Updegraff) Hall. Ruth married the late Kenneth C. Larson, Sr. and they celebrated 38 years of marriage until his death on December 4, 1971. She was a member of Community Baptist Church, Montoursville and was one of the original founding members in 1950, a member of Montoursville Historical Society. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed her family, and also enjoyed gardening and bible study. Ruth is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Kenneth C. “Ken” and Donabel “Belle” Larson, Jr. of Montoursville, four grandchildren; Keevin and wife Marti Larson, K. Clifford Larson, III, Brian and wife Lisa Larson and Bradley and wife Monica Larson, nine great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and one sister; Grace Betts of Montoursville. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by five brothers; John, Pete, Burt, George and Joe Hall and six sisters; Goldie, Mary, Elsie, Peg, Emma and Betty. A public visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Rte 87, Montoursville, PA 17754 with the funeral at 11:00 a.m., with Greg Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church, or to Susquehanna Health Home Care Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
