Ruth S. Beury

POTTSVILLE- Ruth S. Beury, 77, of Pottsville, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday. Born in Philadelphia, PA, but raised in Leck Kill, Northumberland County, Ruth was born on June 30 1936. Ruth was a daughter of the late Wellington and Ana Runkle Schoffstall. Ruth was a 1954 graduate of Line Mountain High School. Ruth was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pottsville. Ruth was a volunteer at the Salvation Army for their Thanksgiving Food Drive and Toys for Tots, which takes place around Christmas. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Beury, who passed away in 1976; her daughter, Susan Kastinko; her two sons, Robert “Bobby” Beury and James Beury; her granddaughter, Jamie Beury; her two Great grandchildren, Ryan Julian and Baby Sementilli-Fessler. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Mary Lou Kull, wife of Richard, of Pottsville and Rose Fedornak, of Minersville; her two sons, Kenneth R. Beury, husband of Margaret “Maggie”, of Pottsville and George Schoffstall, of North Carolina; 16 Grandchildren; 16 Great grandchildren; her great great grandson; her two brothers Daniel and Howard Kreitzer, both of the Philadelphia Area; several nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the First Congregational Cemetery, Second Street, Minersville. The funeral procession will gather at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 1st,at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Garfield Square, 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville.
