Ruth Nadine Kelly, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Dallastown Nursing Center. Born March 9, 1927 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late George Kelly and Ethel Kelly Smith, and sister of the late Richard Ned Kelly. Ruth was a 1944 graduate of Red Lion Area High School, a 1950 graduate of Univ. of PA School of Nursing and a 1953 graduate of Philadelphia Modeling & Charm School. She was a life member of the Alumni Assoc. at Univ. of PA. The majority of her professional life was devoted to nursing care and administration, she also held her real estate license through Century 21 from 1984-1987. Ruth's greatest joy was doing for others. Her Red Lion community volunteerism included American Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul’s UM Church, Red Lion Area High School Education Foundation, Historical Society, Kaltreider-Benfer Library Founder’s Club, Senior Center and was an AARP Tutor in elementary schools. Ruth’s Dallastown community memberships include Golden Ager's Club, Borough Zoning Board and Youth Aid Panel. Ms. Kelly is survived by a nephew, Christopher A. Kelly of Red Lion; and a niece, Kim Kelly Hartman of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her faithful companion dog of 13 years, "Sasha". Ruth arranged for her body to be donated to Humanity Gifts Registry for medical research.
