Ruth M. (Myers) Reichard

RED LION - Ruth M. (Myers) Reichard, 89, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stewart L. Reichard. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion; with her pastor, The Rev. David D. Tietje officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born July 27, 1919 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Lucinda (McDowell) Myers, she was a 1937 graduate of Red Lion High School. Following high school, Mrs. Reichard attended beauty school in York and worked as a hairdresser. She was also CEO of R&R Vending since 1948 and had been a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Mrs. Reichard is survived by two sons, David M. and wife Ann Reichard of Red Lion and Steven S. Reichard of Felton; three grandchildren, Richard Reichard, Randy Smith, and Megan L. Reichard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Reichard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's UCC, 161 N. Main St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
