Ruth L. (Leypoldt) Rambo

YORK- Ruth L. (Leypoldt) Rambo, 90, died on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Augustus T. "Gus" Rambo, who passed away on Thursday, November 25, 1999. The services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rambo was born on September 1, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA., the daughter of the late Christian and Louise (Knoth) Leypoldt. Ruth worked as the Director of the Cafeteria at Woodbury High School in Woodbury, N.J. for many years. Mrs. Rambo enjoyed reading but most of all enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren. Mrs. Rambo is survived by two sons, C. Paul Rambo and his wife, Jo Anne of Franklinville, NJ and Augustus T. Rambo, Jr. and his wife, Tara of Turnersville, NJ; one daughter, Christine Mervine and her husband, Bruce of York; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Elwood "Woody" Rambo; and three brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue group/shelter of your choice.
