Ruth Jennie (Daughety) Stein

York-Ruth Jennie (Daugherty) Stein, 87 passed away March 3, 2011 at the Brunswick at Longstown. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York. Visitations will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday March 6, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will follow in St. Pauls (Lebanon) Lutheran Church Cemetery in Felton. Ruth was born on June 14, 1923 in Chanceford Township, York County. Formerly living on Brownton Road in Felton, she also lived with her son Sam before entering the Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Mae (Warner) Daugherty. She worked and retired from the York Casket Company. She is survived by five sons, Thomas W. and wife Charline of York, Glenn (Dan) and wife Jannette of York, Timothy D. and wife Sandra of Spring Grove, David L. and wife Arla Jean of York, and Samuel N. and wife Eva of York; and Daughter-in-Law Terry M. Stein. She had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is survived by a sister Edna Amspacher of Brogue and a brother Paul Daugherty, of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, the late Glenn E. Stein and brothers, Walter, Furman, William Jr., Mervin (Pete), Russell and Henry. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 S. Queen Street, York, PA, 17402. To the Best Mother anyone could ever have, The Boys.
