Ruth I. (Walize) Snyder

ELIZABETHTOWN - Ruth I. (Walize) Snyder, 87, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. She was born in Millerstown on December 13, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lillian B. (Weiland) Walize. Ruth married the late John E. Lehman on June 07, 1945 and they celebrated 21 years of marriage together until his unexpected death in April of 1967. On February 14, 1976, Ruth married Richard E. Snyder, who survives and they celebrated 39 years of marriage together this year. Ruth was a homemaker and worked for the Sheerer Dress Factory of Millerstown for several years as a seamstress. Ruth enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling. In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by one stepson and daughter-in-law; Kevin and Penny Snyder of Mifflinburg, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Susan and Alan Lewis of Henderson, NV, Mary and Charles Jackson of Palm Bay, FL and Patricia Gelnett of Port Trevorton, seven grandchildren; Jonathan Street, Roberta Laufenberg, Dean Gelnett, Duane Gelnett, Kelly Gelnett, Shawn Gelnett and Shane Gelnett, two step grandchildren; Keith and Sheyna Mabus, one great grandson; Ryan Street and one sister; Helen Kuhn of Millerstown. In addition to her parents and first husband, Ruth was preceded in death by one stepson; Keith Snyder. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Village Hospice Unit, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 07, 2015 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center Meditation Chapel, 600 Freemason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A private family graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 08, 2015 at Watsontown Cemetery, Watsontown. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
