Ruth G. (Trimpey) Whitenight

YORK - Ruth G. (Trimpey) Whitenight, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in York. She was the wife of the late L. Lee Whitenight. The couple wed June 5, 1949 and were married for 51 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with The Reverend Dr. Christopher Rodkey officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born October 7, 1927 in Mt. Wolf, Ruth was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Florence (Herr) Trimpey. She was a school teacher for 30 years with the Dallastown School District until her retirement in 1990. Mrs. Whitenight was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Dallastown. Ruth is survived by a son, Russell L. Whitenight and his wife Karen, of Dallastown; daughter, Sally R. Ferris of Gillette, Wyoming; grandson Kyle Ferris; sister, Rachael Tracey of York; five nephews and a niece.
