Ruth Ellen (Kessler) Wills

Ruth Ellen (Kessler) Wills, 94, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lawrence B. Wills, Sr. The couple were married 54 years before Lawrence’s passing in 2001. Born March 1, 1924 in York, Ruth was a daughter of the late William B. and Mary Ann (Heckaman) Kessler. She served in the USO and was a member of St. John’s Blymire’s United Church of Christ. Mrs. Wills is survived by three sons, Lawrence Wills Jr., George Wills and his wife Kathy, and Terry Wills; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, George Kessler, and a sister, Margaret Turner. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, William Luther Kessler, and a daughter, Nancy Wills. A viewing will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Blymire’s UCC Cemetery in Dallastown.
