Ruth E. (Neidhammer) Burkholder

YORK- Ruth E. (Neidhammer) Burkholder of Manchester Twp., passed away at her residence on Friday, June 21, 2013. She was the wife of Thomas F. Burkholder with whom she celebrated a 67th wedding anniversary on May 26, 2013. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Ln., York, with visitation from 4-5 pm. The Reverend Dr. Roy E. Carnahan will be officiating. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Mrs. Burkholder was born in Mowry, PA on June 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Rev. William H. Neidhammer and M. Irene (Hornberger) Neidhammer. She was a window trimmer for JCPenny in Hanover. She was a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York. She taught Sunday school at Stillmeadow and Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Hanover. She was an avid piano player and enjoyed serving many years as a pianist at the churches. Mrs. Burkholder leaves a son, Thomas E. Burkholder of York; a daughter, Kay Stull of Spring Grove, four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, William L. Neidhammer of York; and many nieces and nephews.
