Ruth D. Jelliff

WELLSBURG, N. Y. - Ruth D. Jelliff, Age 93 formerly of Berwick Turnpike, Bentley Creek, PA passed away Monday. February 28, 2011 at the Bradford County Manor. Ruth was born October 14, 1917 in Berrytown, PA daughter of the late Archie & Ada (Roesner) Reeser. She was a graduate of area schools and married the late Chester F. Jelliff, Sr. Ruth worked on the family farm for 40 years and also at Westinghouse with 26 years of service. She was a former member of the Berrytown Wesleyan Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and collecting antiques. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed the times she spent with all her grandchildren. Ruth will be missed by all of her family and many friends. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chester & Judy Jelliff, Jr. of Hammondsport, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & James Davis of Bentley Creek, PA, five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister-in-law, Lucille Jelliff of Gillett, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Chester Jelliff, Sr., two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vadys & Alonzo Thomas, Thais & Arthur Dunbar and a brother-in-law, Glenn Jelliff. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc, 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Her service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM with Reverend James Crupi officiating. Interment will be held in the spring in Bentley Creek Cemetery.
