Ruth C. Witmer

Red Lion—Ruth C. (Kimmons) Witmer, 86, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Manor Care Health Services—Dallastown with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Nelson J. Witmer. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10AM, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Brendan Hock. A viewing will be held from 9-10AM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Heiland View Cemetery. Born June 18, 1932 in Red Lion, she was a daughter of late Charles F. and Mary C. (Arnold) Kimmons. Throughout her working career she was employed with several companies including, McCrory’s Distribution, Standard Register and retired from York International. A member of Chapel Church United Methodist in Red Lion, she enjoyed driving around, playing cards, reading her Bible and spending time with family. Mrs. Witmer is survived by one son, Steven C. Miller and wife, Pat of Red Lion; one daughter, Tina M. Stiles and husband, Mike of Windsor; five grandchildren, one great grandchild; one sister, Violet Chronister of York; step daughter, Jenny Taylor and husband, Kim of York; two step granddaughters and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Church United Methodist, 3050 Cape Horn Rd, Red Lion Pa 17356.
