YORK – Ruth A. (Miller) Fishel, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at her home. She was the wife of Charles R. Fishel, Sr. with whom she celebrated 72 years of marriage on March 7th.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York with her Pastor, The Rev. Kevin C. Stout officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and Wednesday from 10-11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
Born July 9, 1931 in Littlestown, a daughter of the late Earl J. and Marie (Noel) Miller; she was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Fishel had worked at Pfaltzgraff Pottery for a few years and then became a Crossing Guard at Hayshire Elementary School until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, crochet and needle work, and being with her husband as they traveled and went on cruises. Mrs. Fishel was a member at Zion Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fishel is survived by three sons, Tim L. Fishel of Colorado Springs, CO, David C. and wife Barbara Fishel of Lititz, and Charles R. “Chip” and wife Deb Fishel of Westminster, MD; a daughter, Margaret A. “Marge” and husband Charles Callahan of Ramona, CA; five grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and her brother, Robert E. and wife Cathaleen Miller of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene P. Miller; and a sister, Lois J. Henry.
