Ruth A. (Hoover) Shoffner

LISBURN-Ruth A. (Hoover) Shoffner, 90, formerly of Lewisberry, died, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Shoffner. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11a.m. on Saturday at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street in Lewisberry, with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. The Reverend Kenneth Keller will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Fairview Bethel Cemetery. Mrs. Shoffner was born in Lisburn on December 2, 1916, a daughter of the late Robert and Maude (Parks) Hoover. She worked for ten years at a sewing factory in Grantham and also cared for foster children, including Roger Brunner of Manchester. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, putting puzzles together, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Shoffner leaves a son, Murray M. Shoffner of Lewisberry, three daughters: Nancy E. Burgess of Lisburn, Laura Miller of Hurst, TX, and Carol Maahs of Fountain, CO, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 98 Enola Rd., Enola, PA, 17025.
