Ruth A. 'Hon' (Hunt) Goshorn

YORK- Ruth A. “Hon” Goshorn, 89, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Goshorn, Sr., who passed away on July 4, 2001. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Pastor Bill Christian officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born on August 3, 1923 in Jacobus, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Annie (McKinsey) Hunt. Ruth was a housewife and volunteered at York Hospital. Mrs. Goshorn was a member of Fourth United Brethren Church. She enjoyed going for rides to the farmers market, country music, playing cards, bingo, and watching the Game Show Network, especially Steve Harvey on Family Feud. Ruth loved Christmas and Easter. Mrs. Goshorn is survived by four sons, Walter Goshorn and his wife, Cathy of Seven Valleys, Gregory Goshorn and his wife, Elaine of York, Timothy Goshorn and his wife, Carmen of Camp Hill and Kelly Goshorn and his wife, Janice of Dover; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Swords of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Goshorn; and 11 brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
