Ruth A. De Jesus-Tedder

YORK - Ruth A. de Jesus-Tedder, 70, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of Billy Joe Tedder who died July 7, 2003. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, 3920 East Prospect Rd., York where a service to celebrate Ruth's life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Ruth was born February 15, 1937, in Washington Twp., York County. She was the daughter of the late David Lewis and Bertha Mae (Kinter) Markel. She retired in 1998 as a laundry attendant at Randolph Park Laundromat after more than 15 years of service. As a youth, she attended East Berlin High School. More recently she attended Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting shut-ins, as demonstrated by her several years as a volunteer Senior Companion with Lutheran Social Services in York. She was a genuine people-person and loved taking long drives in the countryside. She leaves her son, M. Chris Williams and wife, Jean of York; her three daughters, Cynthia Ann Hylton and husband, Jack of Quakertown, Melinda Kay Rinehart of York, and Carmen Luisa Sitler and husband, Kevin of Red Lion; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Elwood Markel of York and Dale Markel of Gardners. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Massam, in 1995 and a sister, Joanne Markline.
