Ruth A. Crone

YORK- Ruth A. (Gettys) Crone, 88, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at ManorCare Health Services North in York. She was the wife of the late Bruce R. Crone. Mrs. Crone was born in Dover on September 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Robert and Alverta (Hollerbush) Gettys. She was the owner and operator of Crone’s Restaurant in Eastern Market in York. Mrs. Crone was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Dover. She enjoyed travelling to Atlantic City and Delaware to the casinos. Mrs. Crone leaves a daughter, Beverly Giffin and her husband, Tom of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Donna Copenheaver of Ohio, Betty Sunday of Dover, and Evelyn Gumpper of York. Memorial contributions may be made to Dover Fire Company, 30 East Canal Street Dover, PA 17315. Services will be private.
