Ruth A. (Berner) Rich

WILLIAMSPORT - Ruth A. (Berner) Rich, 89, formerly of Southhold, New York, died on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Manor Care North, Williamsport. Ruth was born on March 22, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Edna R. (Ashton) Berner. She was married to the late Herschel Theodore "Ted" Rich for 63 years before his death in 2001. Ruth enjoyed reading, knitting, hooking rugs and gardening. Ruth is survived by two sons; John P. Rich of Montoursville and Jeffrey T. Rich of Sagle, Idaho, one daughter and son-in-law; Sarah R. "Sally" and David Craig of Montoursville, six grandchildren; Ted Craig, David Craig, Nathan Craig, Rachel Emig, Michelle Rich and Jill Lemyre, six great-grandchildren; Abby, Ellie, Ben, Tyler, Jackie and Silas and one sister and brother-in-law; Helen and Bob Hopper of Ramsey, NJ. A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010 in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Deacon Fund, 102 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
