LINDEN - Russell W. “Russ” Toner, Jr., 82, died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Manor Care North, Williamsport. Russell was married on April 12, 1974 to the former Margaret L. (Ott) who survives and have celebrated 38 years as husband and wife. Russell was born on September 4, 1930 in Rote and was the son of the late Russell and Goldie (Morgret) Toner, Sr. He had graduated from Lock Haven High School Class of 1949 and then attended Mergenthaler Technical School in Baltimore for Tool & Die making. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He had worked at P.M.F. for 15 years and retired in 1990. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife Margaret, he is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law; Joseph and Karen Edkin of Williamsport, William “Bill” Edkin and family friend Ron Person of Montgomery and Anthony “Tony” Edkin of Linden, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Phyllis and Dave Smith of Cogan Station, Kathy Naugle of Williamsport and Shryl and Paul Whitesell of Williamsport, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law; Delores and Ross Carlson of Hansville, Washington and one sister-in-law; Sally Toner of Mingoville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard and Samuel Toner and two sisters; Mildred Homan and Pauline Redon. The graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with the Reverend Mark Messner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
