Russell O. Johnston

Russell O. Johnston, Age 93 of 564 Johnston Road, Gillett, PA passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Bradford County Manor, West Burlington, PA following an extended illness. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, June 13, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Russell's funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11:00 AM Saturday, June 14, 2008 with Pastor Rob Wuethrich of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will follow in Hanlon Hill Cemetery. Russell was born June 4, 1915 in Erie, PA son of the late Orie and Grace Wagner Johnston. He married Lucille B.M. Sindermann on August 26, 1939 and had 68 wonderful years together. He was retired from Associated Transport where he worked as a truck driver for many years. Russell was a member of the Teamsters Union and enjoyed using his talent as a mechanic spending his spare time working on cars. Russell was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. Survivors include his wife Lucille B.M. Johnston of Gillett, PA, sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Elaine Johnston, Raymond and Jane Johnston, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Kevin Yaggie all of of Gillett, PA, foster children, Jimijoe Salsman of Maine, Andrea and John Champion of Sayre, PA, step brothers, Fritz and Joyce Janowsky and Richard and Linda Janowsky all of Gillett, PA, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
