FELTON – Russell L. Yohe, 78, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Fairie L. (Barshinger) Yohe, to whom he was married for 51 years. Funeral services and burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. He was born October 10, 1933, in Rossville, PA, a son of the late Luther and Bertha (Nell) Yohe. Mr. Yohe worked as a machine operator and mechanic for CertainTeed and Autokraft Box Co. until his retirement in 1999. Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the Hopewell Fish and Game Association, and was known for his playful and “ornery” sense of humor. He had served as a Specialist in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Yohe is survived by a daughter, Judith and husband Lloyd McMaster of Felton; two sisters, Betty Yohe of Red Lion and Anna Mae Leiphart, formally of Brogue, now residing in York. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Clair, Clarence, and Charles Yohe; and four sisters, Marie Warner, Catherine Eckert, Ruth Olphin, and Velma Yohe.
