YORK- Russell E. Horn, Jr., 81, died on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Lilli M. (Weber) Horn, to whom he was married for 13 years. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born on September 15, 1934 in York, he was a son of the late Russell E. and Eleanor (Baird) Horn, Sr. Mr. Horn began his business career with PACE Resource’s Inc.’s subsidiary Print-O-Stat, Inc. in 1962. Advancing as a sales trainee, sales representative, manager, vice president, executive vice president and in 1977 bring elected President/Treasurer. In 1996 he was elected as President and COO of PACE Resources, Inc., in 1999 President and CEO and in 2001 Chairman/President/CEO. He was Chairman of PACE Resources’ Executive Committee. He served on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Buchart-Horn, Inc. and Print-O-Stat, Inc., and Geschaftsfuhrer (Managing Director) of Buchart-Horn GmbH, Germany. Mr. Horn also served as President/Treasurer of PACE Offset, Inc. (POS Fast Copy Centers), President/Treasurer of Belcrest/Bentz Interiors, President/Treasurer of B-H Computer Systems, Inc., Treasurer of B-H Laboratories, Inc. and Office of the President, PACE Resources, Inc. In addition, he was President of Yorktowne Associated Contractors, Inc., member of the Advisory Board of the Dauphin Deposit Bank-York Region, member of the Dealer Advisory Council of Xerox Engineering Systems, Rochester, New York, member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross-York County Chapter and founder of “FIREPOWER,” a national organization of independent reprographic businesses. He was a consultant for York Octoberfest, Inc. regarding German customs and designed the logos for their events. He served as an officer of the Maryland Reprographic Association and was a director of the York Club- Printing House Craftsmen and was a former member of the Catonsville, Maryland Business Association, Eastern Regional Reprographic Association, Southeastern Reprographics Association, International Reprographic Association, National Association of Quick Printers, Manufacturers Association of York County and the Dutch Club. He was a member of the Outdoor Country Club, the Lafayette Club and served on the Board of Governors, the York County Economic Alliance, the Viking Athletic Association, the National Rifle Association and the American-German Union. He has volunteered for numerous non-profit organizations in their fund raising efforts. These include: Boy Scouts of America, United Way of York County as Assistant Chairman General Firms Division, Penn State-York Campus Community Gifts Division and American Red Cross-York County Chapter. He served on the Parent Advisory Council of Davis and Elkins College, Elkins, W.V. and as a member of the Graphic Arts/Printing Occupational Advisory Committee for the York County Area Vo-Tech School. He supported and was a volunteer for the York High Alumni Band. Mr. Horn served nine years in the United States Army Security Agency during the Korean and Vietnam War Era as an Analyst, Field First Sergeant, Watch Officer and Instructor. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, the Korean War Veterans Association, the National Army Security Agency Association and the Army Security Agency-Korea Association. He was a member of the Army Security Agency Alumni Association-National Capital Area, the Army Security Agency Alpiners and the Army Security Agency Herzo Base Survivors. His military service included two tours of duty in Germany and a tour in Korea. He concluded his military service as an instructor at the Army Security Agency School, Fort Devens, MA. He is listed in MARQUIS Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in America. Along with his wife, Lilli, Russell is survived by two sons, Russell E. Horn, III of York and John D. Horn and his wife, Summer of York; three daughters, Silvia Yorgey of York, Monika Clabaugh of York and Ursula Yost and her husband, Brian of Hanover; a step daughter, Susi Miller and her husband, Brian of Wellsville; ten grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Horn and his wife, Joyce of York; a sister, Rosalind Kunkel and her husband, Lee of York; and sister in law, Carole Horn of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his wife, Franziska K. Horn, who passed away on February 10, 1995; a brother, Robert E. Horn; and a son in law, John H.
