RED LION - Russel E. Miller, 95, of Windsor Township, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Laura E. (Dietz) Miller. The couple was married in 1938 and had been married for 61 years when Laura died in 1999. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The Reverend Thomas Osenbach will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery in Delroy. Mr. Miller was born in Windsor Township on June 29, 1916, son of the late, Harry W. and Laura M. (Wineka) Miller. He worked as a laborer for Miller’s Mill, the family owned mill in Windsor Township until 1938. He then worked for Owings Brothers Feed in York until 1951, Dietz’s Dairy Farm until 1958 and retired as a supervisor in 1982 from Red Lion Milling Company. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Paul (Springvale) United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Yorkanna Fire Company. He was a hard worker and always put his family first. Mr. Miller leaves a son, James B. Miller and his wife Sue of Red Lion; six grandchildren, Jeffrey K. Miller and his wife Laurie, Denise M. Lokhaiser and her husband Troy, Brian W. Miller, Matthew Arnold and his wife Cristina, Nathan Arnold and his wife Angela, and Ryan Arnold; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Luther Miller and Milo Oliver Miller; and two sisters, Anna Mae Rodes and Beulah Arlene Ness. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Marie Miller; a son, Glen W. Miller; five brothers and five sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul (Springvale) U.M. Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 or Windsor Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 2185 Windsor Rd., Windsor, PA 17356.
