Rudolph Rudy P. Surovcik

POTTSVILLE- Rudolph "Rudy" P. Surovcik, 66, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Coaldale on December 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Rudolph and Verna Racko Surovcik. Rudy was a 1960 graduate of Marian High School and a 1964 graduate of LaSalle College, Philadelphia, where he received a bachelor of Science degree. He was a member of Sigma Phi Lambda at Lasalle College. Rudy worked for IBM, Reading, for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. After retirement he owned Bowers Group, a sales training company. He was also an employee on Benecon Group, Inc. He was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mt. Carbon, where he served as a lecture for many years. He most recently was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. He a member of the Draft Board during the Vietnam War. He was past President of Rotary Club, Pottsville. Rudy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda M. DeSalle Surovcik, of Pottsville. Other survivors include, his daughter, Lisa Walkush, wife of Mark, of North Wales; his two sons, Greg Surovcik, husband of Dianne, of Hellertown and Kevin Surovcik, husband of Janet, of Malvern; his six grandchildren, Derek, Ethan, Alex, Gabby, Adam and Annie; his brother, Dennis Surovcik, husband of Maryann, of York, PA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
