Rudolph "Rudy" Moore

Rudolph (Rudy) Moore died peacefully at his home on June 9, 2022. He was the son of the late Albert and Caroline (Babs) Moore born in Tunapuna, Trinidad West Indies October 16, 1935. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at First Moravian Church, 39 N. Duke Street, York with Rev. Sayward Lippincott officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-10:30 AM Saturday at the Church. He graduated from Tunapuna EC in the 1950s and in 1968 he came to the United States. On June 3, 1969, he married the love of his life, Gloria. Their union produced two children and they celebrated 53 years of marriage shortly before his death. He obtained citizenship in 1995. He worked as an assembler at BMY/BAE for 20 years and retired in 1996. In his younger years he loved to build things with his hands, gardening, Black & White Whiskey and the calypsonian, Sparrow. He enjoyed taking care of his pet birds. He liked to look good, smell good and he loved the Lord. In his older years, he loved his wife and family. He enjoyed Penn State football, NFL football, old westerns, riding his bike around the neighborhood and talking to the neighbors. Rudy could be recognized by the way he whistled. He easily made friends wherever he went and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He was a member of First Moravian Church. Rudy is predeceased by all of his siblings. Randolph, Jean, Amy, Boyie and Fred. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gloria Moore (Kirk), daughter, Sharon Moore Saylor, (her partner, Montez Young), daughter, Trudy Moore Kotek, son, Terrence Moore (his wife, Patricia) and daughter, Nicole Daniels of Marietta, GA. The family he married into: Nola Blackman, Jennifer List (David), Merlyn Blackman, Sylvan Kirk (Julia), Leaton Kirk (Joy) Mervyn Kirk (Beth) and Cheryl Parker (Rocky), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in the United States and Trinidad.
