Roy F. Ritchey

York—Roy F. Ritchey, 64, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Linda A. (Simmons) Ritchey to whom he was married for 34 years. A Graveside Tribute Service will be 11 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Tatesville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Everett. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gary Boor. Born March 27, 1952 in Amityville, NY, he was a son of the late Glen C. and Mary V. (Simmons) Ritchey. He was employed as a machine operator and maintenance with Tyco Electronics, formerly AMP, Inc., for 27 years. A United States Air Force Veteran of Operation Desert Shield, he also served in the Air National Guard. He was a member of Tatesville United Methodist Church in Everett and attended First Assembly of God in York. Roy was an avid target shooter and a skilled handyman to family and friends. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ritchey is also survived by two daughters, Heather B. Njo and her partner, Benjamin T. Newton of Brunswick, MD and Jennifer L. Gianato of York; one grandson, Gaius F. Newton; one brother, Barry G. Ritchey and his wife, Mary of York; one sister, Jone R. Sienkiewiez of Salem, MA; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan M. Ritchey.
