YORK- Roxie Ann (Shirey) Warfel, 68, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of Dale E. Warfel to whom she was married to for 49 years. The couple wed on May 11, 1963. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend Fred A. Walthour of Salem U.C.C. officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born on October 21, 1943 in York, Roxie was a daughter of the late Roy and Rose (Harbaugh) Shirey. She worked at Dentsply International until her retirement in 1993. Mrs. Warfel was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Girls Club of Dentsply. Along with her husband, Dale, Mrs. Warfel is survived by a son, Dale Warfel and his wife, Beth Ann Smyser of Felton; a daughter, Erin Warfel and her significant other, Jeremiah Anderson of York; three grandchildren, Cameron and his wife, Audrey, Paige and Faith; two great grandchildren, Anabella Warfel and Layla Mae Flohr-Warfel; two brothers, Terry Shirey of York and Ronald Shirey of Red Lion; and two sisters, Doris McClane of York and Ida Jane Crall of Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Shirey; and a sister, Rose Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
