FELTON – Roxann L. (McPherson) Koons, 58, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of Bruce L. Koons to whom she was married for 38 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Road, Felton with her pastor, The Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Cross Roads U.M. Cemetery. Born December 16, 1955 in York a daughter of the late Earl J. and Emma L. (Schmuck) McPherson, she was a 1973 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. Mrs. Koons had worked as a machine operator at AMP-Tyco Inc., and then was a secretary for Matthews Excavating, and most recently at David E. Smith Electrical Contractors. She was a member of Cross Roads U.M.C. and York Co. Fiddler’s Assoc. Women’s Auxiliary. Roxann enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with her husband, reading, spending time tending to her flower gardens, and loved going to the beach with her sister, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Koons is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. and husband Nicholas Kane of Wrightsville; a son, Adam E. and wife Laura Koons of Brogue; a grandson, Wyatt Koons; one sister, Sandra Nace of Felton; two half sisters, Ann Smith and Dorothy Devilbliss both of Fawn Grove; a brother, Michael McPherson of Felton; five half brothers, Dean and Bruce McPherson both of Red Lion, John Webb McPherson of Maryland, Donald McPherson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Dale McPherson of Stewartstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel McPherson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403 or to Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Rd., Suite C, York, PA 17402.
