Rosemary L. Rentzel

YORK- Rosemary L. “Posey” (Engdahl) Rentzel, 94, of Springettsbury Township, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services in Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Rentzel. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St. in York, with a visitation from 11:30-noon. Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Rentzel was born in York on February 6, 1923, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Emma M. (Bott) Engdahl. She retired from JC Penney in 1985, where she taught cake decorating. Mrs. Rentzel was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Ruth Sunday school class. She was a member of the Scatter Homemakers Group and the Royal Rose Buds Cake Decorating Club. Mrs. Rentzel leaves four grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Lily, and Jared; five great grandchildren, Abby, Zach, Andrew, Lauren, and Brady; two daughters-in-law, Beth Rentzel of York and Brenda Rentzel of Batesville, IN; numerous nieces and nephews, and a devoted caregiver, Hannah Keller. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. Rentzel and Gregory L. Rentzel and two brothers, Richard B. Engdahl and James F. Engdahl.
