Rose M. (Topper) Herman

SPRING GROVE- Rose M. (Topper) Herman, 86, died on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at The Village at Utz Terrace. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Herman, who died on April 12, 2013. The couple wed on August 5, 1950. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Pastor Todd Witmer officiating. A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Born on February 1, 1930 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Curtis C. and Mary M. (Stambaugh) Topper. Rose was a homemaker. Mrs. Herman was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Spring Grove. She was also a member of Porter’s Community Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed playing Bingo. She loved spending her summers at her beach place in Fenwick Island, DE. Mrs. Herman is survived by one son. Sam Herman and his wife, Tammy of Spring Grove; two daughters, Leslie J. Mullenax of Glen Burnie, MD and Stephanie J. Brinton of Hanover; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two brothers, James H. Topper of Littlestown and Earl L. Topper of New Oxford. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta D. Potter; two brothers, Robert Topper and Marlin Topper; and one sister, Margaret Reaver.
