MOOSIC- Rose M Jackowicz, of the Greenwood section of Moosic, died Saturday, July 12th, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jackowicz, who died July 21st, 1972. Born in Mocanaqua, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tekla Wnenchak. She was educated in Mocanaqua schools. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca. She worked at Capital Records, Scranton, as a records inspector and Schott Optical, Duryea, as a glass inspector until retirement. She will be always be remembered for her unusual mixture of love and strength. She had an immeasurable abundance of love for her family and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her grandchildren with whom she shared many memories, had a special place in her heart. She loved working in her garden, nurturing her flowers and raking the leaves. Simple times were the best times to her. These and other precious memories will keep her forever close in the hearts of all who loved her. Surviving are a son, John Jackowicz, Jr. and his wife Joanne, Moosic, a daughter, Joyce Mendoza and her husband, Joseph, Watsonville, CA, a daughter, Sharon Colarusso and her husband, Joseph and their children, Joseph, Jr. and wife Tara, Jason, Jamie, Chelsea and Justin, two great grandchildren, Dustin and Jaydon, all of Moosic, a brother, Michael Wnenchak and wife, Irene, Landenberg, PA and a sister, Mary Kubasek, Mocanaqua, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by; a grandchild, Johnny Colarusso, a sister Ann Kubasek, and long time friend, Stan Griscavage. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00AM from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main Street, and Avoca, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM from Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Avoca. Officiating will be Father Joseph R. Kakareka. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
