Rose L. (Ryan) Barrett

LOCK HAVEN - Rose L. Barrett, age 87, passed away at Susque View Home on Sunday, August 21, 2011. She was born in Lock Haven on January 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Harry J. and Linnetta (Beck) Ryan. Rose was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the church. She worked as a home health aide for the Community Service Group and also provided some private home health care. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, and animals. Rose loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son: John H. “Jack” Barrett of Lock Haven, daughter: Rose Ann Strouse of Woolrich and grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, and Sue Ann. Also surviving is her brother: Leo Ryan of Albequerqe, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded by her former husband: Jack L. Barrett in 2005, six brothers and four sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 with Fr. Joseph Orr celebrating. The family will receive friends at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday prior to proceeding to Church. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the S.|P.C.|A., RD.#2, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
