RED LION- Rosario F. "Frank" Ferrandino, 83, died at his residence on Thursday, June 4, 2009. He was the loving husband of Diana (Ferry) Ferrandino to whom he was married to for 15 ½ years. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at the family's discretion. Born March 2, 1926 in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Peter and Josephine (Iacono) Ferrandino. He served in France with the 70th Infantry Division during WWII. In 1945, he was assigned to a Quartermaster Company in Germany. In 1949, he completed the Basic Agent's Course at the Army's Counter Intelligence Corps Center and later on completed the Intelligence Specialist Dual Area Course at the US Army's Intelligence, Military Police, and Special Weapons School, Europe. Most of his career years thereafter included stateside and overseas position assignments of Investigator and of Intelligence Research Officer, under the U.S. Army Intelligence Command; Technical Supply Officer at an Ordinance Company in Germany; and Staff Maintenance Officer at the Headquarters of a US Army infantry Training Center at Ft. Dix, N.J. During his military career he attended Iona University, but earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland in 1959. In 1971, he received his Master of Arts Degree in Education from Rider University. After his military retirement, he worked for the N.J. State Employment Service in Burlington, N.J. as an Employment Interviewer, but shortly after accepted federal employment initially as an Investigator and later as a Security Specialist for the US Army Intelligence Command in Philadelphia. After two years, he returned to the N.J. State Employment for a few months, but left again to accept a federal career intern position in the civilian personnel human resources area at Ft. Dix. After his training, he was assigned the job of Supervisory Personnel Management Specialist. After two years he moved to another Army civilian personnel office at the Pentagon, and began specializing in the area of job analysis, classification and compensation. He remained there until retiring in 1979 as a civil servant, having worked at several other government agencies in addition to the Army, viz. the Federal Communications Commission, the Office, Secretary of the Army, the General Services Administration, and lastly the Department of Energy. Responding to the demand for personnel skilled in position analysis, classification, and compensation, he continued working in this field as a consultant and performed contract work for various Federal, state, and private organizations both in the US and in foreign countries until his final retirement in 1998. Along with his wife Frank is survived by a brother, J. Joseph Ferrandino of Hicksville, N.Y. and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Anthony L. Ferrandino.
