Ronald P. Gohn

DOVER TWP.- Ronald Patrick Gohn, 68, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home from a two-year long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Debra Ann (Barnes) Gohn. Born March 17, 1950 in York, he was the son of June (Hengst) Gohn and the late Richard Gohn. He was a Supply Class 4 Specialist Soldier in the U.S. Army and on standby for approximately six years. Ronald then spent some time in machine shops, only to retire from One-Belgium Manufacturing. After retirement, he spent the rest of his time doing what he loved; his hobby of woodworking and clock fixing in his woodshop and visiting flea markets and antique shops with his beloved wife. He will be remembered as a loving, kind and gentle brother, son, father and husband. In addition to his wife Debra of 46 years and mother June, Ronald is survived by his brother, Larry Gohn of State College; sister Karen Handy of East Berlin; three sisters in law who thought of him as their only brother, Sharon Warnecke of York, Vicky Shearer of Shiremantown and the late Patricia Barnes; two daughters, Lacy Gohn of Red Lion and Elisha Gohn of York; and two granddaughters, Desaree Ware and Mikylee Barett of Red Lion. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Dover United Church of Christ.
