RED LION- Ronald Lee Richardson, 72, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Ephrata Community Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joanne (Phipps) Richardson to whom he was married 52 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Brian Winograd officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10AM prior to the service. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born September 16, 1946 in Fountain Green, MD, Ronald was a son to the late Hugh Gwyn and Clara Esther (Reedy) Richardson. He was a man of many talents, including working as a manager at Digital Equipment Corporation and various other career positions; retiring in 2014. Mr. Richardson served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved history, both military and family, and enjoyed watching the military and history channels, and Baltimore Ravens and Orioles games. He taught Sunday School to seniors for over 20 years. Ronald was also fond of joining his breakfast buddies to start his days, and will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. In addition to his wife, Joanne, Mr. Richardson is survived by a brother, Hugh Gwyn Richardson of Conowingo, MD; a nephew, Michael Lee Richardson; a niece, Valerie Richardson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Mae Sexton, Louise Jones, and Carolyn Lehr; an abundance of nieces and nephews, and his dearest little dachshund, Murphy. Along with his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a son, William Brian Richardson; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Phipps, and two sisters-in-law, Edna Louella Pikulin and Patsy Lee Phipps. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
