Ronald L. Howard, Jr.

YORK- Ronald L. Howard, Jr., 54, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Anita C. (Miller) Howard. The couple celebrated 35 years on marriage this past January. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with The Reverend Sal Buonocore officiating. Viewings will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and Friday from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Bethany United Methodist Cemetery. Born November 1, 1961 in York, Ron was the son of Ronald L. Howard, Sr. of Dover and the late Judy E. (Crone) Howard. Ron worked as a machinist for 39 years, learning the trade when he was 15 years old, and eventually owned his own business, Slothower Machine Shop, Inc. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron had a passion for Corvettes and loved to visit the beach. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post #791, the 13th Ward Political Club, and the Rooster Social Club. In addition to his wife, Anita, and his father, Ronald Sr., Mr. Howard is survived by a son, Timothy J. Howard and his wife Jennifer of Dover and two daughters, Samantha Howard of Hellam and Allison Howard of Dover. Along with his mother, Judy, Ronald was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Howard.
