Ronald L. Becker

YORK- Ronald L. Becker, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Judy E. (Lehr) Becker. The couple celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on April 19, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on May 16, 2021 at York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Rd. in York. Pastor Brian Kannel will be officiating at the service. The service will be open to the public, and anyone who knew Ron or the family is welcome to attend. Mr. Becker was born in York on September 12, 1940, the son of the late William D. and Fairy A. (Wire) Becker. He worked for the former McKay Chain and then retired from Engel Machinery in Manchester. Mr. Becker was a member of York Alliance Church. He enjoyed woodworking, especially building both indoor and outdoor furniture. He became a prolific poet late in life and had a great sense of humor. Mr. Becker leaves four sons, David Becker and his wife Dawn, Michael Becker and his wife Sara, John Becker and his wife Kristen, and James H. Becker and his wife Angela; eight grandchildren, Joel and his wife Carrie, Erin, Olivia, Logan, Abigail, Josiah, Anna, and Hannah; and a great granddaughter, Charlotte. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Rd. York, PA 17403.
