Ronald E. "Ron" Witman

YORK- Ronald E. “Ron” Witman, 77, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at York Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was the fiancé of Ursula H. (Schaefer) Flory. The couple had been together for 31 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Stephany Sechrist officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Born on September 26, 1939 in Hellam, he was a son of the late Millard and Mary (Fink) Witman. Ron was an inspector for Dentsply for over 39 years until his retirement. Mr. Witman was a former member of the York Hiking Club and Wood Carving Club in York. Ron enjoyed woodworking, gardening, painting and puzzles. Along with his fiancé, Ursula, Ronald is survived by one son, James Witman and wife, Kathy of Middletown, MD; one daughter, Vonda Witley and husband, Gary of Olympia, WA; one step son, James Flory and wife, Shari of York; one step daughter, Sonja Ryan and husband, Rich of York; three grandchildren, Jenna Witman, Skye Witley and Kaia Witley; five step grandchildren, Mike Flory, Gerica Flory, Nikki Garner, Jamie Ball and Jessi Miller; numerous great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Witman and wife, Andrea of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his step granddaughter, Carrie Flory; three brothers, William Witman, Gary Witman and Millard Witman, Jr.; and two sisters, Delores Kocher and Mary Ann Druck.
