Ronald E. (Fred) Anderson

NEWBERRY TWP-Ronald E. Fred Anderson, 53, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Cindy L. Anderson with whom he celebrated 31 years of marriage on August 25, 2010. Born July 13, 1957 in York, a son of Dorothy (McCartney) Taylor and the late Park Anderson, he attended Red Land High School. He owned and operated Speedway Auto Sales for 13 years. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 at Beaver- Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be held 1-2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Parkville Cemetery. Fred owned multiple mini vans that competed in races and he took great pleasure in watching them. He also enjoyed building sprint car wings with his brother Randall, spending extra time working at his shop, going to Falls Bar and the flea market to visit with his friends, and being with his family. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by a son, Jason E. Anderson of Newberry, Twp.; two brothers, Richard and Rodney Anderson, both of Newberry, Twp.; two sisters, Linda Anderson of Newberry Twp., and Carol Jean Stauffer of York; many nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Bobbi Deskin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Anderson, and stepfather, Larry Taylor.
