York—Ronald D. "Chief" Mathias, 64, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Bonnie Jean (Triplett) Mathias to whom he was married for 7 years. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Richard Starr officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Mr. Mathias was born October 20, 1942 in Hanover, a son of the late Earl Mathias and Mildred Mathias (Bollinger) Kochansky. As an Information Technology Professional, he was employed with various companies over his 35-year career, including York International, BMY, Footlocker and most recently New World Pasta, where he retired from in 2004. He was a member of the Viking Athletic Assoc., Free & Accepted Mason-York Forest 30, the Clown Unit and past president and member of both the national and local Winross Organization. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mathias is survived by six children, daughter, Terri Johnson and her husband, daughter, Kristine Blymire, son, William Mathias and his wife Kelly, daughter, Denise Fuhrman and her husband Jim, daughter, Wendy Boutilier and her husband Rick and son Shawn Fishel and his wife Jess, ten grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Adam, Tia, William Jr., Sela, Reese, Lauren, Josh and Justin and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Mathias. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
