Ronald N. “Brownie” Brown, 83, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Glenda L. (Clouser) Brown.

Born January 2, 1942 in Hanover, PA, Ronald was the son of the late Wade H. and Sarah Elizabeth (Clutz) Brown. Ronald grew up on the family farm, Brown Valley Farms, and acquired an incredible work ethic from his time and experience on the farm. Ronald was a graduate of Littlestown High School class of 1960, where he participated in the drum corp and 4H club. After moving to York, he worked for Rutter Brother’s Dairy, York Lincoln Mercury and Anchor Motor Freight. In 1966 he joined the Marines where he proudly served his country until 1968. Upon returning home, Ronald started his own business, Ronald Brown’s Excavating. He spent most of his life volunteering at many different fire companies before he was hired as a career firefighter for Alert Fire Company Station 24 as well as Manchester Township Public’s Works, after 37 years of service to his community, Ronald retired from Manchester Township Department of Fire in 2010. Ronald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who knew no greater joy than being with his family. 

In addition to his beloved wife, Ronald is survived by four children, Jacki Brown Hegidus and her husband David, Bonnie Giambalvo and her husband John, Michael W. Brown, and Bradley N. Brown; five grandchildren, Matthew Thornton and his wife Alexis, Olivia Thornton-Flynn and her husband Kyle, Katie Giambalvo, Jonathan Giambalvo, and Joseph Giambalvo; a great granddaughter, Aubrey Renae Flynn; a sister, Sally Bair and her husband Alan; and several nieces and nephews. Ronald is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Mummert; and two brothers, Marvin Edward Brown, and Timothy C. Brown. 

Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Following cremation the family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
