Romaine C. (Koons) Smith

YORK- Romaine C. (Koons) Smith, 87, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion at 11 AM, with her pastor, The Reverend Steven Schmuck officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born August 24, 1926 in Windsor, Romaine was the daughter of the late Emory and Mary (Snyder) Koons. She worked early on as a cigar maker then continued into manufacturing. Her last 15 years she worked at Flinchbaugh Products, Inc. until her retirement. Romaine was a member of the Red Lion Bible Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. Ms. Smith is survived by three sons, Kenneth L. Smith and his wife Sue of Red Lion, Dennis L. Smith and his wife Sharon of Felton and Ricky L. Smith of Felton; two daughters, Sandra E. Runkle and her husband William of Felton and Sonja J. Shaull of Red Lion; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a brother, Denton Koons of Felton. In addition to her parents, Romaine was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Koons, Raymond Koons and Lester Koons.
