DALLASTOWN- Roland E. Grove, 71, entered into rest to be with his Lord and Saviour Saturday, September 12, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Virginia L. (Toomey) Grove. The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on September 25, 2008. A Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Dallastown Union Cemetery, with full military honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard. His pastor, David MacKenzie will be officiating. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Roland was born in Red Lion on August 4, 1938, a son of the late Norman E. Grove and Evelyn J. (Zech) Sangrey of Florida, and step son of Helen L. Reisinger of Windsor. He retired from Voith Hydro, Inc. in York, where he was an inspector. After retiring, he worked part time for both, Manheim and Adessa Auto Auction's. Roland was a member of Bridgeway Community Church in York and was a member of the Red Lion Mountain Boy's Hunting Camp for 53 years and Springfield Township Sportsman's Association of Jacobus. He served in the US Army. Roland leaves three sons, Michael D. Grove and his wife Susan of Windsor, Jeffrey E. Grove and his wife Lori of Red Lion, and Brian L. Grove of Windsor; five grandchildren, Travis, Josiah, Mariah, Elizabeth, and Abigail Grove; and a brother, Barry Grove of York. A step brother, Robert Grove had preceded him in death. Roland was most proud and had a great love for his three sons and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Center (Patient Help Fund), Bridgeway Community Church, or VNA/ Hospice.
