York—Rogers E. Hall, 86, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at York Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of Bernetta E. (Flory) Hall to whom he was married for 64 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 21, 1928 in Slater, Missouri, he was a son of the late William and Ophelia (Short) Hall. His career as medical equipment serviceman began in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged after serving 23 years and continued his specialty, first with the National Institutes of Health and later retired from the Uniformed Services Univ. of Health Sciences. A United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc, Messiah United Methodist Church and the York Galleria Mall Walkers. He was formerly a member of the North York Lions Clubs and the Optimist and Elks Clubs in Rockville, MD. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hall is also survived by one son, Timothy N. Hall and his wife, Stacy of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Karla M. Kramer and her husband, Denny of Salisbury, MD and Krista J. Abbaticchio of Clarksburg, MD; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew A. Hall and a son-in-law, Mike Abbaticchio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 North Beaver Street, York, PA 17404.
