Roger J. Davenport

MT. WOLF- Roger J. Davenport, 77, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of June M. (Graham) Davenport. The couple wed on January 26, 2020. Born on February 20, 1944 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert and Doris M. Davenport. Roger was a police officer at Haverford Twp. Police Department for many years and a lifetime member of the Bon Air Fire Co. in Havertown. Roger was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of multiple law enforcement motorcycle clubs throughout the years. Roger dedicated much of his life to public service. Roger also enjoyed working on cars and could fix just about anything. Along with his wife, June, Roger is survived by three sons, Robert Davenport, John Davenport and his wife, Dawn and Roger Davenport, Jr.; daughter, Veronica Davenport; six grandchildren, Paxton, Ashley, Crystal, Amber, John-Michael and J.R.; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Timothy; brother, John Davenport and his wife, Gloria and sister, Carolyn Davenport. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Dottie Davenport. In lieu of a service, a memorial gathering will be held on November 12, 2021 between 10:00am-12:00pm at Bon Air Fire Company, 541 Royal Ave., Havertown, PA 19083. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
