Roger D. Harris

YORK—Roger D. Harris, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence in Spring Garden Twp. He was the husband of Mary Dee (Birchess) Harris. The couple married on August 22nd and recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM, Monday, November 26, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York. Officiating the service will be Father Daniel Richards. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be from 5-7PM, Monday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Burial will be held 1:30PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery; Annville—Lebanon Co. Born October 20, 1942 in Portland, ME, he was the son of the late Norman and Catherine(York) Harris. He earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration and later a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi. He was the President & CEO of Priority Post, a postal solutions business he owned from 1993 until his retirement in 2010. A United States Navy Veteran, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and loved restoring old boats. In addition to his wife, Mr. Harris is survived by two daughters, Lori A. Smith and husband, Troy of Lancaster and Kristen N. Olds and husband, Willie of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Hayley, Brayden, Savannah and Charlotte and a brother-in-law, Dr. Damian Birchess.
