Felton--Rodney L. Jones, 60, passed away after a lengthy illness, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his residence in Cross Roads Borough. He was the husband of Kelly S. (Runkle) Jones to whom he was married for 40 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2PM, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, the Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. A viewing will be held from 12-2PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Cross Roads Cemetery. Born October 1, 1956 in York, he was a son of the late Norman and Elizabeth (Gemmill) Jones. Rodney started his career in auto body repair at Hammond’s Body Shop, he later took a service manager position with Sterner’s Chevrolet, before co-owning H&M Body Shop. He also worked for Sammis Chevrolet as a service manager and retired from All State Insurance, as a Senior Field Car Claims Adjuster. An avid classic car enthusiast, he enjoyed attending show cars, had a passion for classic car restoration and was a founding member/office holder of White Rose Street Rod Assoc. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed the family camping trips. A volunteer with Southeastern School District youth sports programs, he also coached JV boy’s basketball at Kennard-Dale High School. He was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church and NSRA. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jones is also survived by three children, Amanda L. Bell and husband, David of Windsor, Rustin E. Jones and wife, Carla of Dallastown and Lacey A. Sieling and husband, Gregory of Red Lion; eight grandchildren, Krysta and Turner Bell; Gage, Bly and Britton Jones; Briley Craig; and Jaxon and Blakelynn Sieling; one brother, Ronald Jones and wife, Shirley of Stewartstown and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, 223 N. Lime Street, Lancaster, Pa 17602. Kelly would like to extend a special “thank you” to her parents, Pat and Vernon Runkle, sister, Crystal Snellbaker and brothers, Steve and Ronald Runkle for all their dedicated support through Rodney’s illness. Rodney’s family requests that anyone attending his service dress casual and drive your classic car.
